Answer Key Release

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences is likely to release the NEET PG answer key starting October 1. Candidates can check the answer key through their individual applicant login on the official NBEMS website. The details available will include question IDs, correct answer key IDs, responses marked by candidates, and scores awarded for each question.

Exam and Results Details

The exam was conducted on August 30 for 2,63,544 candidates. A re-examination took place on September 5 for 2,416 candidates affected by a technical disruption at two centres in Jaipur. NBEMS declared the results on September 24, providing raw scores and All India Ranks. Individual scorecards are also scheduled to be available from October 1 and will remain on the website for six months.

Cut-Off Marks

The qualifying cut-off for General and EWS candidates is the 50th percentile, which is 262 marks. For General PwBD candidates, it is the 45th percentile or 244 marks. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, and OBC categories, including PwBD candidates, need the 40th percentile, corresponding to 226 marks. These are only qualifying cut-offs and differ from admission cut-offs that depend on the course, college, category, quota, and counselling.

Exam Format

The test comprised 180 multiple-choice questions with four response options each. Candidates were given three hours and 30 minutes to finish the exam.

Context

Medical entrance exams in India follow strict evaluation timelines to ensure admissions for postgraduate courses proceed smoothly. Answer keys give students transparency by letting them cross-verify their marked responses against official evaluations. Preserving scorecards is important because medical counseling authorities require them during seat allotment processes.
