Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation has extended the Dasara illumination in Mysuru to Sunday, November 1, to coincide with Karnataka Rajyotsava. ## What Happened The lighting show, originally set to end on October 31, will now run an extra day across major circles and prominent roads, according to a CESC press release. The display lights up Mysuru Palace as well as key city circles and arterial roads. ## Impact The extra day falls on a Sunday, so officials expect higher visitor numbers and an opportunity to see the palace lit up. The event already drew large crowds and caused traffic congestion in the city during the earlier festivities. City officials warned drivers to plan routes as congestion is likely to return. ## Context Karnataka celebrates Rajyotsava on November 1 to mark the formation of the state, while Dasara is a major Hindu festival that traditionally features elaborate light displays in Mysuru, adding to the festive spirit of the celebrations.
