Two people died in separate shootings on Friday night at Spirit Halloween stores located in California and Michigan.

California Shooting

In Fairfield, California, a shooting inside the store at the Solano Town Center killed one woman and left six other people with gunshot wounds. Fairfield Police identified the victim who died as 31-year-old Constance Hages. Family members told detectives that Hages was pregnant, and police are working to confirm this detail through the Solano County Coroner. Investigators believe the attack was a targeted incident involving a single suspect inside the store. Police said three male victims aged 16, 19, and 32 are in critical condition. Another 23-year-old male is in critical but stable condition, while two other men aged 19 and 43 received treatment and left the hospital.

Michigan Shooting

In Madison Heights, Michigan, a shooting late Friday afternoon killed a 21-year-old man. Police stated that the victim and the suspect, who is also 21 years old, knew each other. An argument broke out between the two men before the suspect shot the victim multiple times. Family members of the victim then assaulted the suspected shooter, who was sent to the hospital with injuries.

Company Response

A spokesperson for Spirit Halloween stated on Saturday that the affected stores will stay closed until the end of the season. The company expressed deep sadness over the tragic events and offered condolences to the affected families.

Context
