A Class 10 girl from Zilla Parishad High School in Raptadu, Anantapur, who was attacked with an electric chainsaw on Oct 31, 2026, has been stabilised at Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru. The medical team stopped major bleeding in the operating theatre and maintained her blood pressure through blood transfusions and supportive care. Andhra Pradesh Education and Human Resources Development Minister Nara Lokesh posted on X that doctors successfully controlled the bleeding and that the child's condition is now stable. He thanked doctors, medical staff and officials for coordinating the emergency response. Lokesh said the child continues to receive close medical attention and expressed hope for a full recovery. The minister indicated he will travel to Bengaluru to consult the medical team and meet the victim’s family to assure them of state support. The update underscores the swift coordination between the school, local authorities and a tertiary care centre in a serious violent incident.
