Sindhu clinches Hylo Open title with straight‑sets win over Kjaersfeldt

PV Sindhu defeated Denmark’s Line Kjaersfeldt 21‑12, 21‑14 to win the Hylo Open title, her second tournament victory of 2026 and her third final appearance at the event. Sindhu used a pivoting backhand lob that sailed over Kjaersfeldt’s head after a rally where she showed strong wrists and sharp anticipation. Coach Irwansyah’s focus on creativity has helped her add such shots to her repertoire. The Indian’s power and persistence remain evident, but she also exploited court geometry and improved reflexes to dictate play. A cross‑court smash opened the match and a series of net attacks and drops forced lifts that she converted easily. The win gives her enough points to move back to world No 6 in the rankings next week. Earlier in the season she beat An Se‑young at the French Open and captured a Super 750 title in Japan, while the Hylo Open victory marked the Dane’s eighth loss in as many career finals. The upcoming World Tour Finals will test her against the remaining top‑four players – Se‑young, Chen Yufei and Akane Yamaguchi. ## Context The Hylo Open is part of the BWF World Tour and offers valuable ranking points that can shift a player’s world position, explaining why Sindhu’s victory moves her up the ladder.
