Veteran actress Shabana Azmi reveals family bond with Sulabha Arya at award ceremony

Veteran actress Shabana Azmi surprised the audience at an award event by announcing her family relationship with fellow actress Sulabha Arya, stating that Arya is her sister-in-law. Azmi attended the ceremony to honour and celebrate her relative. During the event, Azmi spoke about how families often fail to properly value awards given to their own members, comparing the habit to treating household achievements as less important. She also humorously apologised for years of past arguments with Arya before offering her congratulations and expressing deep pride. Sulabha Arya is known for her role as a grandmother in the series Veen Doshtali Hi Tutena. She married cinematographer and actor Ishaan Arya, whose mother was the sister of Shabana Azmi's father, making Ishaan the son of Shabana's maternal uncle.
