Reliance Jio is offering its JioBharat 4G feature phone for ₹1,499 under a limited‑period 10th‑anniversary promotion. The handset comes with six months of complimentary recharge that includes 14 GB of data each month and unlimited HD voice calls, subject to terms. Jio says the bundled benefits bring the effective price of the phone down to about ₹299. The deal targets users still on 2G, who normally pay around ₹199 per month for connectivity, totalling roughly ₹1,200 over six months. By providing a 4G device, Jio aims to move these users to faster internet and a wider range of digital services.

Services Included

JioBharat gives access to JioTV with about 500 channels, JioHotstar for live cricket, movies and other entertainment, and millions of songs. The phone also supports UPI payments, payment alerts and a Sound Box for transaction notifications. Safety features include Jio Safety Shield for safe‑calling and location‑monitoring to help families stay connected.

Context

Feature phones traditionally offered only voice calls and SMS. Adding 4G and bundled services lets a large segment of users access apps, streaming and digital payments without buying a full smartphone.
