He currently serves as the Director of the Kerala State IT Mission and also holds additional charge as the CEO of Technopark and the Director of the Kerala State Remote Sensing and Environment Centre.
Network Growth
Meanwhile, KFON crossed a milestone of two lakh connections this month. The network has reached a total of 2,00,073 connections, which include households, government offices, institutions, and businesses, alongside free connections provided to Below the Poverty Line families.
Infrastructure
The project currently operates with a fibre network that spans over 34,505 kilometres. It functions with the support of roughly 3,800 Local Network Providers across the region.
Context
Projects like KFON aim to bridge the digital divide by expanding high-speed internet access to remote areas and government institutions. State-led fibre optic networks typically focus on public service delivery and affordable connectivity for economically weaker sections alongside commercial users.
