Palnadu District Collector Kritika Shukla has declared a holiday for all government and private schools, colleges, and Anganwadi centres on Tuesday, November 2, because of Cyclone Murasu. The district administration has made all necessary arrangements to handle the cyclone safely. A special control room is now open round-the-clock at the Collectorate to help people and coordinate relief work. Citizens can call the emergency help number 08647 252999 for help or information. The Collector has urged people to stay alert and avoid going outside unless it is truly necessary.
Context
Cyclones often bring heavy rain and strong winds that make travel unsafe, which is why local authorities routinely declare holidays for students when severe weather strikes. Emergency control rooms are set up during such events to make sure help can reach people quickly when problems arise.
