Jio Financial Services shares rose nearly four percent on Monday, 2 November, following the completion of warrant conversions by two promoter-group entities. The company allotted 12.5 crore equity shares each to Sikka Ports & Terminals and Jamnagar Utilities & Power at ₹316.50 per share. This process finished a warrant conversion plan that started in September 2025, after both entities originally received 25 crore warrants each. An earlier batch of 12.5 crore shares each went out in April 2026. These new allotments push the paid-up equity capital of Jio Financial Services to ₹6,853.14 crore, spread across 685.31 crore shares. Promoter and promoter-group ownership together climbed to 50.98 percent from 49.13 percent. Specifically, Sikka Ports & Terminals saw its holding move up to 4.65 percent from 2.93 percent, while Jamnagar Utilities & Power increased its stake to 5.52 percent from 3.84 percent.

Earnings

In the July-September quarter of FY27, Jio Financial Services posted a 51 percent year-on-year drop in consolidated net profit down to ₹340.44 crore, compared to ₹695 crore in the same period last year. Higher expenses caused this drop. At the same time, total income jumped nearly 70 percent to ₹1,699.41 crore, up from ₹1,002.40 crore a year before. Interest income went up to ₹1,257.68 crore from ₹392.37 crore. Total expenses rose to ₹1,166 crore from ₹436.50 crore in the previous fiscal year.

Stock Movement

On the stock market, Jio Financial Services opened at ₹206.85 on the BSE, hit a high of ₹212.10, and a low of ₹206.60, though the stock remains down about 28 percent over the course of 2026. Sudeep Shah, Head of Technical and Derivatives Research at SBI Securities, noted the stock has traded in a narrow range of ₹203 to ₹209 recently and stays below its main moving averages. He stated that the ₹200 to ₹205 range offers strong support, whereas ₹217 to ₹220 acts as heavy resistance, requiring a close above ₹220 to show a trend change. Gaurav Arora, Head of Research at SAHI, added that the stock neared its broad support area near ₹198 before trying to recover, with immediate resistance sitting at ₹212 and then ₹222.

Context

Warrant conversions allow promoters or investors to buy new shares at a set price, which infuses capital into the business and changes ownership stakes. Financial firms often see shifts in their share prices and profit margins when operating expenses rise alongside growth in interest income.
