Bomb threat emails sent to the district and sessions courts in Thane and Hingoli on Monday prompted evacuations and police-led searches, but no explosive devices or suspicious material were found. In Thane, a message warned that a bomb would explode at 3.30 p.m., leading personnel from Thane Nagar police station to clear the entire court complex. Judges, advocates and staff were escorted out safely before a dog squad and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) conducted a thorough sweep of the premises. The search, however, turned up nothing suspicious. In Hingoli, the threat arrived after the court opened in the morning. Court officials immediately alerted police, and a police team accompanied by BDDS rushed to the building for a comprehensive inspection. The email is believed to be a hoax, and the Hingoli cyber‑crime unit has opened a probe to trace its source. Both investigations concluded with no dangerous items discovered, and normal court operations are expected to resume. ## Context Threat emails to judicial buildings are treated as serious security risks, prompting rapid police response and specialized bomb‑disposal units. Hoax threats, while unsettling, often lead to precautionary evacuations and thorough investigations to ensure public safety.
