Rockstar Games is giving Red Dead Online players a batch of limited‑time Halloween rewards, but the full Red Dead Redemption 2 game remains a paid title. The company announced the event on 6 October via its website, promising special missions, seasonal challenges, returning clothing items and extra in‑game cash, gold and experience.

Rewards

The Strange Tales of the West Telegram missions let players hunt supernatural incidents and earn four times the usual RDO$, gold and XP. All Hallows' Call to Arms, a survival mode defending settlements, offers three times the normal payouts. Reaching Wave 5 in that mode unlocks the Rowberrow Outfit and Air Banjo Emote; Wave 10 adds the Beat Chest Emote and a gold bar. Completing all ten seasonal maps between 27 October and 2 November awards the orange Benbow Jacket. Naturalist‑role users can claim the Irontooth Mask, and hunting a Legendary Animal grants the Best Shot Emote. Additional perks include free fast travel, free sedative ammunition, free Tomahawks from the Fence and discounts on selected clothing, weapons and horses.

How to Claim

Each activity has its own deadline, with the four Strange Tales missions and the All Hallows' Call to Arms challenge both running until 2 November. Players must own Red Dead Redemption 2 or have an eligible license to access Red Dead Online and collect the items.

Context

The promotion ties into Rockstar's long‑running Halloween theme for Red Dead Online, offering extra loot without changing the core game’s purchase model.
