Naidu urges NDA allies to win maximum seats in MPTC and ZPTC polls and to keep calm while urban local body votes are counted. He told senior leaders in a teleconference on Monday that counting will take place on November 3 and the rural council elections on November 5. Naidu said the urban elections were peaceful despite claims that the YSR Congress Party tried to stir trouble. He warned partners to exercise restraint and take necessary precautions during the counting process. The chief minister highlighted that the MPTC and ZPTC contests are vital for the development of village‑level bodies such as Mandal and Zilla Parishads across all 28 districts. He urged the alliance to aim for the highest possible seat tally in each district. Naidu pointed to large‑scale development programmes already running in villages and said the government is delivering welfare to every family with a focus on good governance. He claimed projects worth almost ₹1.50 lakh crore are under way in rural areas and asked leaders to strengthen the coalition’s presence in local bodies. Noting a low turnout in the urban polls, he appealed to TDP and partner leaders to mobilise voters for the upcoming MPTC and ZPTC elections. The teleconference was attended by Jana Sena’s Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar and BJP state president P.V.N. Madhav. ## Context Naidu’s appeal comes as the NDA seeks to consolidate power at every level of government ahead of the November local elections, a pattern common in Indian state politics where control of rural councils can influence state‑wide development agendas.
