Patients in the coal belt can now use six new dialysis machines set up at the Ramagundam Area Hospital of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited in Godavarikhani. Officials opened the new units on Monday in Peddapalli district.
Cost and Setup
The total cost for these six units stands at sixty lakh rupees, with each individual machine priced at ten lakh rupees. SCCL Chief Medical Officer Kiran Rajkumar and RG-I Area general manager D. Lalith Kumar opened the new facility together.
Who Benefits
This setup aims to give steady and good medical care to company workers in the coal belt region. The hospital treats people not just from the RG-I Area, but also from Bhupalpally, Bellampalli, and Mandamarri Areas.
Why It Matters
Workers needed this upgrade because the older dialysis equipment had grown too old to use properly. Trade unions in the area, such as the AITUC-linked Singareni Collieries Workers Union, asked company leaders to approve the new machines.
Context
Hospitals run by public sector companies often serve as the main medical support for workers and families living in industrial and mining towns across India. Upgrading old medical equipment helps ensure that local patients do not need to travel long distances to big cities for routine treatments.
