Actor Nushrratt Bharuccha airlifted to Mumbai with spinal injury after Bali accident

Bollywood actor Nushrratt Bharuccha suffered a severe spinal fracture in an accident while visiting Bali for work and a holiday. After receiving initial treatment at a local hospital in Bali, she was flown to Mumbai in an air ambulance and arrived looking serious in viral photos and videos, though she was conscious and talking to people.

Surgery And Career Impact

Doctors are closely monitoring her health, and a Mumbai hospital will perform a spinal surgery once her condition is evaluated. Her team stated that the serious injury and upcoming surgery require a long recovery period, which will disrupt her current filming schedules and work projects. This includes an upcoming film with Tiger श्रॉफ where they were set to share the screen for the first time, featuring a cast that also includes Pashmina Roshan, Abhishek Banerjee, and Elvish Yadav.

Past Injuries

Nushrratt has faced previous health hurdles during her career, including an injury in April 2023 on the set of the film 'Akele' where she fell headfirst on a marble floor while running, and another incident in January 2023 during 'Chhorii 2' where she needed stitches on her face and eyebrow after an action scene. In August 2021, she suffered a severe vertigo attack due to extreme exhaustion and low blood pressure after working continuously for nearly 24 days on a Luv Ranjan film.

Context

Actor injuries on active film sets and during personal travel can cause major delays for multi-starrer movie productions and shooting timelines. Recovery from spinal fractures generally demands strict medical supervision and extended physical rehabilitation before any heavy physical work or film shooting can resume.
