Service Details
Amazon Now offers thousands of products. These include groceries, fruits and vegetables, frozen food, personal care items, fashion and beauty products, small appliances and home and kitchen goods. Orders are fulfilled via a network of almost 800 micro-fulfillment and urban fulfillment centres.
Sales and Plans
The firm stated in September that Amazon Now crossed $1 billion in annualised gross sales in India based on the previous three-month period. The company plans to expand the service to more than 300 cities and build India's largest delivery-in-minutes network.
Context
Fast delivery services have become a major battleground for e-commerce companies competing for urban shoppers. Companies often scale up their local logistics networks rapidly before major festival shopping periods to handle higher order volumes.
