Naman Dhir has been named in India’s five‑match T20I squad against the West Indies, taking the place of Washington Sundar. Sundar is currently competing in the Asian Games in Japan and the board wants him to focus on red‑ball cricket before the two‑Test series in New Zealand that starts on 19 November. The Ranji Trophy begins on 11 October, giving selectors a chance to give Sundar match practice in the longer format. Dhir, who debuted in ODIs in Trivandrum, has not yet played a T20I. In 61 domestic T20 games he has accumulated 1,222 runs with a strike rate near 156 and claimed eight wickets at an economy of 9.40 runs per over. He featured in all 14 matches for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026, scoring 318 runs at a strike rate of about 147 and registering two half‑centuries. In addition, fast bowler Anshul Kamboj has been summoned for the third ODI in New Chandigarh, replacing Prasidh Krishna, who suffered a hamstring injury and will rehab at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. Kamboj, a Test debutant from Manchester last year, has not yet appeared in white‑ball internationals and is currently playing for India A in unofficial Tests against Australia A in Puducherry.
