India could gain if the worldwide boom in artificial intelligence shares loses steam, as money from other parts of the world looks for safer homes. RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra shared this view, noting that Indian share prices have dipped from recent peaks in a calm and orderly way.
Market Risks
While AI growth has pushed up stock prices across the globe, Malhotra pointed out that this rapid expansion brings hidden dangers to world money systems. He named five major trouble spots: high AI stock prices, heavy public debt, growing debt in shadow banking, fast-growing private credit, and digital security threats. Even so, he clarified that none of these issues look like an immediate danger to the financial world right now.
Indian Resilience
India faces global shocks from energy costs, foreign interest rate changes, and cash flows, yet local markets show strong strength. Malhotra noted that banks and non-bank lenders in the country sit on solid financial ground. He also warned that weak digital defenses anywhere in the world can cause wide trouble, urging leaders to track tech links without choking new ideas.
Context
Central bank chiefs regularly track global financial shifts to protect local banking systems from sudden foreign money movements. Technology links mean that problems in foreign tech markets can quickly alter how investors move funds across developing nations like India.
