Police found him lying on the road in a pool of blood after he suffered a gunshot wound. A video of him lying on the street has gone viral on social media, and he reportedly died while people were taking him to the hospital.

Police officers rushed to the scene and started an investigation into the shooting. Sirivennela, who serves as the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, stated that two unknown men fired at him at around 6 pm. Sandhu was open about his identity as a gay man and often faced homophobic trolling online. He once answered his critics by saying that God made him the way he is.
