Bollywood Stars Change Fan Meet Rules Behind Bulletproof Glass After Threats

Changing Fan Meets

Amitabh Bachchan recently greeted fans outside his Mumbai home in Juhu from behind a transparent bulletproof enclosure on November I, with his son Abhishek Bachchan standing close by. Shah Rukh Khan also changed his usual greeting spot this year to a position further back. This comes after a recent firing incident in Mumbai where gunmen shot at Tiger Shroff's car in Juhu, leading Tiger to install bulletproof protection on his windshield. Salman Khan previously fitted bulletproof glass on his Bandra balcony at Galaxy Apartments in January last year and imported a bulletproof car in 2024 due to threats.

Expert Reactions

Security agency owner and actor Ronit Roy calls the bulletproof enclosure a basic protocol that should have happened earlier because risks shoot up when stars step out. Security consultant Yusuf Ibrahim notes that prevention is better than cure, calling it a temporary phase where the law will eventually bring those responsible to justice. Advertising guru Prahlad Kakkar calls the situation unfortunate, pointing out that criminal elements have created paranoia around fan interactions and warning that the threat is both national and international.

Shah Rukh Khan's Birthday

Shah Rukh Khan surprised fans on Monday by waving from Mannat during his 61st birthday celebrations, a day after skipping his usual midnight appearance and disappointing crowds. Mannat is currently under renovation, and his family has temporarily moved to apartments owned by filmmaker Vashu Bhagnani. Instead of his midnight appearance, a handwritten note thanking fans was projected on a giant screen outside Mannat alongside visuals from his upcoming December film King, which also stars Deepika Padukone and features the song "Tu Mil Jaye".

Context
