SS Rajamouli Breaks Tradition With Fast-Paced Shooting for Upcoming Mahesh Babu Film

Director SS Rajamouli is known for taking years to complete his movies, as seen with past projects like Baahubali and RRR. However, his upcoming film starring superstar Mahesh Babu, titled Varanasi, is moving forward at an unexpected speed. The movie is scheduled for release on April 7, 2027. Rajamouli recently announced that 90 percent of the shooting is already complete. While his previous film RRR took over 1,000 days of shooting, reports indicate Varanasi wrapped up its shoot in around 600 days. This rapid progress could set a new record for the director in terms of production speed. The team is now getting ready to finish the remaining shoot along with post-production, visual effects, and other work very quickly.

Cast And Expectations

Priyanka Chopra stars opposite Mahesh Babu in Varanasi, while Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran plays a key role in the film. Mahesh Babu's look, Rajamouli's direction style, and high production values have raised fan expectations even further.
