Vasubaras Puja 2026 Scheduled for November 5 with Ritual Guidelines

Puja Details And Timing

Vasubaras Puja for the year 2026 will take place on Thursday, November 5, during the Pradosh period from 5:33 PM to 8:10 PM. The main purpose of this ritual is to express gratitude toward the cow, known as Gomata.

Ritual Steps And Offerings

Devotees can perform the puja at home even if a real cow is not available, using a mud or metal idol of a cow and calf, or a nice photograph. Place a red or yellow cloth on a wooden stool set up in the northeast corner of the house, where a beautiful rangoli should be drawn. Put a little rice on the cloth before placing the idol or photo on it. Apply sandalwood paste, turmeric, and vermilion to the foreheads of the cow and calf, and use Gulal during the worship along with Akshata grains. Offer a fragrant flower garland and loose flowers, and light a lamp and incense sticks. According to Agrowon - Agriculture News, the special food offerings for the cow include soaked mung beans, chickpeas, jaggery, and bajra rotli or puran poli. Perform the aarti using a lit niranjan plate, pray for happiness, prosperity, and the long life of children, and bow down before the idols.
