Pashupati Cotspin shares dropped to a ten percent lower circuit at one hundred thirty-three rupees and ninety paise on Wednesday after reaching a new fifty-two week high of one hundred fifty-five rupees and forty paise earlier in the session. Trading volume for the stock jumped significantly, reaching more than 1.89 times its usual level.
Board Decisions
The price drop comes just ahead of the company's financial results for the second quarter of financial year 2027. The board of directors will meet on Friday to review the un-audited results for the quarter and half-year ended September 30. Directors will also look at paying an interim dividend on equity shares and have recommended a bonus issue of three shares for every two held, which awaits shareholder approval via a postal ballot. The exchange had earlier asked for details on October 21 after noticing unusual share price movement.
Stock Performance
The company has posted strong gains over multiple periods, rising 10.08 percent in a week and 42.10 percent over two weeks. The stock surged nearly seventy percent over the past month and is up 65.55 percent since January. This recent climb follows strong financial growth, which included a net profit jump of 265.66 percent year-on-year in the June quarter.
Context
Sharp price drops after a strong multi-week rally often happen when short-term traders choose to lock in their profits before major corporate events like earnings announcements. Bonus share issues and dividend announcements regularly draw high retail interest in Indian equity markets, leading to fast price swings.
