Star-Studded Screening

Mumbai hosted a special screening for the upcoming film Ramayan, drawing numerous Bollywood celebrities and main cast members. Producer Namit Malhotra arrived first with his family. Sunny Deol, who plays Lord Hanuman, attended the event alongside Kunal Kapoor, who portrays Devraj Indra. Ravi Dubey came with his wife Sargun Mehta to represent his role as Lakshman. During the gathering, Ravi touched Sunny Deol's feet out of respect, prompting the senior actor to surprise him with a warm hug.

Family and Co-Stars

Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Ram in the film, was joined by his wife Alia Bhatt and mother Neetu Kapoor. Ranbir's cousins Armaan and Aadar Jain also attended with their wives, alongside Alia's family members Soni Razdan and Shaheen Bhatt. Other cast members present included Faisal Malik as Kumbhakaran, Rakul Preet Singh with husband Jackky Bhagnani as Shurpanakha, Vivek Oberoi as Vidyutjiva, Harish Uthman as Vibhishana, Kajal Aggarwal with her son as Mandodari, Lara Dutta as Mata Kaikeyi, Shishir Sharma as Guru Vashishtha, and Ajinkya Dev with his wife as Guru Vishwamitra. Notably, Yash and Sai Pallavi were absent from the screening.

Box Office Expectations

According to Jagran, while the 4000-crore budget film generated immense hype, its advance bookings have fallen short of Ranbir Singh's Dhurandhar 2. Two days before release, Ramayan sold about 5.23 lakh tickets on BookMyShow compared to 11 lakh tickets for Dhurandhar 2 at the same stage. Ramayan earned roughly 24 crore rupees in gross collection from day-one advance booking, with final advance bookings expected to reach between 32 and 37 crore rupees, staying below Dhurandhar 2's 50 crore pre-release collection record.

Context

High-budget Indian film releases often spark intense box office comparisons and massive pre-release tracking across platforms like BookMyShow. Special screenings for cast and crew are a standard industry tradition held shortly before a major movie hits theatres nationwide.
