A 24-year-old Telangana State Road Transport Corporation conductor named G. Pravalika has died after being pushed off a moving bus. The incident led to widespread protests by transport employees across the Khammam region on Wednesday. Pravalika, who worked at the Manuguru depot, suffered critical injuries on October 25 near Mittagudem in Aswapuram mandal. A woman passenger allegedly pushed her from the vehicle following an argument over ticket money owed for the passenger's son. Pravalika's legs went under the rear wheels of the bus, and she died on Tuesday night after spending nearly 10 days fighting for her life in the hospital. Police previously arrested a woman named Mounika from Mittagudem in connection with the attack and initially filed a case for attempted murder. Authorities are altering the charges following the victim's death. Transport workers staged demonstrations wearing black badges and boycotted bus services across seven depots in the undivided Khammam district until Wednesday afternoon, demanding strict punishment for the accused and better safety for staff.

Context
