Precious metals saw heavy ups and downs today in the bullion market, bouncing back sharply from low levels after seeing early drops. Strong buying picked up in both gold and silver during the day, leading to a big jump in prices. Silver prices jumped by 5100 rupees from their lowest point, while gold prices also recovered strongly by 1780 rupees.

Silver And Gold Futures

Trading on the MCX saw major swings in silver today. Silver opened at 179888 against its previous close of 179698, but selling pressure pushed it down to a low of 177600. Strong buying at this low point pushed silver straight up by 5100 rupees to reach a peak of 182700. Gold followed a similar pattern, opening at 139408 compared to its old close of 139452 before falling to 139177. Support at lower levels brought a 1780 rupee recovery, pushing gold up to touch a high of 140957 for the day.

Context
