SRM University-AP Leads Andhra Pradesh in QS Asia 2027 Rankings

SRM University-AP topped the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2027 for all universities in Andhra Pradesh, beating both public and private institutions. The same survey placed the campus within India’s top 51 universities, among the top 25 private universities nationwide and inside the top 100 institutions across Southern Asia. This marks the college’s first entry into the QS international ranking system, which scores schools on research output, teaching quality, global partnerships and graduate employability. Vice‑Chancellor Ch. Satish Kumar said the result shows the combined work of teachers, researchers, students and staff to deliver strong education, research and innovation, and to produce graduates ready for national and global challenges. Pro‑Chancellor P. Sathyanarayanan added that the honour highlights the need to keep investing in research, nurture talent and expand international academic links, stressing the university’s goal to turn research into real‑world innovation for society. ## Context QS rankings are widely used to compare universities across the region, with points awarded for research publications, teaching standards, international collaborations and job placement rates. A top placement can attract more students, funding and partnerships, helping the institution grow its reputation. Andhra Pradesh’s higher‑education sector has seen rapid expansion, making such a ranking especially notable.
