The Defence Research and Development Organisation has opened applications to fill 195 apprentice positions across the organisation. Interested persons can submit their forms online through the official website at drdo.gov.in.
Eligibility
Only regular candidates who scored at least 70 percent or a CGPA of 7.5 in their qualifying examinations are eligible to apply. This requirement applies to graduates, diploma holders, and ITI trade candidates who passed in the years 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026. Additionally, candidates must be at least 18 years old as of September 1, 2026. The final deadline to submit applications is October 30, 2026.
Selection
Selection for these posts will depend on academic merit or an interview, followed by a check of official documents. Selected individuals will receive an email notification about their shortlisting. Furthermore, chosen candidates must show a valid police verification certificate from their permanent address or their last place of residence for the past year when they join.
Context
Apprentice programmes managed by public sector research bodies offer technical graduates and diploma holders a structured pathway to gain hands-on industry experience. These drives typically require strict academic cutoffs to manage high application volumes while ensuring a baseline of technical proficiency for defence-related work.
