Land grabbers are trying to occupy 57 acres of MB Church lands at Gouraram in Jadcherla mandal, according to BRS leader and former chairman of Telangana Foods Mede Rajivsagar.
Details of Allegations
Speaking at a meeting held by the MB Church Jadcherla Lands Protection Committee on Monday, Rajivsagar stated that revenue records clearly show the land belongs to the church. The property is estimated to be worth 300 crore rupees and currently houses a medical college and hospital run by the Christian Missionary that established the church in 1974. Private persons entered the grounds without documents to demolish some buildings, and the BRS leader alleged that realtors are planning this takeover with the help of the police.
Context
Land disputes involving religious and institutional properties often arise as urban and semi-urban real estate values increase. Local protection committees frequently form to safeguard such properties when unauthorized entries or demolition attempts occur.
