The updated Maruti Baleno has made a strong impact on the market by selling 25,000 units within just the first month of its launch. Maruti Suzuki priced the starting ex-showroom model at 5.99 lakh rupees, offering buyers both petrol and CNG options.
Specifications And Features
The hatchback replaces its older engine with a new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z12E naturally aspirated petrol motor that produces 82 horsepower and 114 Nm of torque. Fuel efficiency reaches 24.77 kilometres per litre for the petrol version and 33.61 kilometres per kilogram for the CNG variant. A notable addition is the pairing of a CNG setup with an automated manual transmission for the very first time in this model. Inside the cabin, features include a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a three-stroke steering wheel, trapezoid-shaped air vents, automatic climate control, and a 6-speaker sound system.
Context
Cars in the premium hatchback segment often see high early demand when major mechanical updates and new gearbox options are introduced to the market. Fuel-efficient engine choices combined with automatic transmission options typically attract buyers looking for affordable daily commuting costs in urban areas.
