Shari Rosenblum Retires After Nearly Three Decades at 20th Television
Reported by Danish Ansari (Fact-Checker) · Variety ·
Shari Rosenblum is leaving Disney Television Studios’ 20th Television and 20th Television Animation after almost three decades of service. She most recently served as senior vice‑president and head of publicity, a role she took on in 2022. Rosenblum first joined the company when it was still 20th Century Fox Television, working under Dana Walden and Gary Newman. She is exiting as part of a voluntary early‑retirement offer made to longtime employees earlier this year. In a staff note, Disney Entertainment Television publicity EVP Candice Ashton wrote that Rosenblum “shaped the voice and reputation of our studio” and called her “a consummate pro.” Rosenblum’s own statement said she leaves with “extreme gratitude” and thanked Dana, Gary, mentors Shannon Ryan and Candice Ashton, as well as colleagues Karey Burke and other executives. Over her career she led hundreds of PR campaigns for shows across streaming, cable and broadcast, including “Modern Family,” “Homeland,” “The Dropout,” “New Girl,” “Family Guy,” “The Simpsons,” “Arrested Development,” and the “Percy Jackson” series. She mentored many industry PR professionals such as Lauren Kamm, Megan Rugani and Kristen Kelet. Before 20th, she handled consumer‑product licensing for “Ice Age,” “Planet of the Apes” and “The Simpsons,” and began in literary public relations. Rosenblum has served on the board of P.S. Arts since 2019, was a member of the Local 600 International Cinematographers & Publicists Guild from 2005‑2022, and received the Maxwell Weinberg Showmanship Award for her work on “Homeland.”
Context
Her departure reflects Disney’s early‑retirement program for long‑standing staff and marks a generational shift in the studio’s communications leadership.
