Rosamund Pike to Lead and Produce Body‑Horror Film “Feed”
Reported by Harshdeep Singh (Fact-Checker) · Variety ·
Rosamund Pike will star in and produce the body‑horror film “Feed,” directed by Leslye Headland and written by Daniella Isaacs. The project draws inspiration from the 2022 Finnish horror movie “Hatching.” Its logline follows a desperate mother who finds a rare collagen supplement that promises influencer fame for her tween gymnast daughter, only for the girl to undergo a monstrous change. “Long have I wanted to make a film that plays anarchically with our obsession with social media and self‑improvement, our desire for fame without notable admirable skill and, let’s put it out there, the monstrosity of modern motherhood,” Pike said, adding that “Feed” tackles those themes.
Production
Pike will produce through her Primitive Streak banner. Other producers are Shelley Browning for Magnolia Entertainment, Steven Schneider for Spooky Pictures, Ara Keshishian and Petr Jakl for ZQ Entertainment, and Sam Ritzenberg for Agile Films. ZQ Entertainment financed the development. International sales rights are held by The Veterans, while CAA Media Finance handles U.S. sales. Sales are set to start at next week’s American Film Market. Headland praised Isaacs’ script as “audacious, disturbing and deeply human,” and said working with two women whose work she admires is a privilege. Representations: Pike is represented by CAA, United Agents and Magnolia Entertainment; Headland by CAA and Sugar23; Isaacs by Curtis Brown Group.
Context
The film joins a growing trend of horror movies that critique social‑media culture and the pressures of modern parenting, using body‑horror to visualise those anxieties.
