Jindal SAW Ltd. will build a new manufacturing plant in Abu Dhabi to make 300,000 tonnes of seamless pipes every year. The company expects to finish the project by 2027, though it did not share the total cost of the investment.

Plant Details

The company is building the facility through its UAE subsidiary on a large 400,000-square-metre site located at ICAD-II Musaffah. The factory will use special rolling technology known as Precision Quality Finishing, or PQF, to produce line pipes, drill pipes, and oil country tubular goods. This will be the first plant of its kind to use PQF technology in the United Arab Emirates, and only the second facility in the entire Middle East and North Africa region. Jindal SAW stated that the investment is meant to grow its business in the local energy infrastructure market.

Leadership Statement

Managing Director Sminu Jindal spoke about the company's focus on the project. Sminu Jindal said the main goals are careful project execution and strong commercial partnerships based on accountability, engineering skills, and clear customer needs.

Existing Operations

Jindal SAW already runs another business in Abu Dhabi called Jindal SAW Gulf LLC, which makes 350,000 tonnes of ductile iron pipes every year for moving and distributing water. The firm also works with Hunting Energy Services Pte. Ltd. through an Indian joint venture named Jindal Hunting Energy Services Ltd. to supply special casing and tubing.

Context

Large industrial companies often set up local manufacturing plants in foreign energy hubs to stay close to major oil and gas clients. Abu Dhabi remains a key center for regional energy production and infrastructure development in the Middle East.
