The count went up from 32,388 after authorities added 493 posts for secondary school teachers and 439 posts for higher secondary school teachers under the Education Department, Bihar. Applicants can submit their forms online until October 26, 2026, which is also the final date to pay the application fee. Eligibility And Pass Marks
Candidates must check the eligibility rules before starting their registration. The official notice sets the pass marks for BTET 2017 and CTET candidates based on categories. General category candidates need at least 60 percent marks. Backward class, extremely backward class, and general category female candidates need 55 percent marks. Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and disabled category candidates need a minimum of 50 percent marks. For STET Paper-I and Paper-II qualifiers, the rules decided during the test by the Bihar School Examination Board will apply. All male and female candidates coming from outside the state will be treated as general category candidates.
Context
Public service commissions in India frequently update vacancy counts during active application windows as departments report fresh needs. Meeting clear category-wise percentage cutoffs is a standard requirement for government teaching jobs in the state.
