Telugu actor Nani stated that he never desired to have the tag of a mass hero attached to his name. In a recent interview following the release of 'The Paradise', he shared details about how he picks his films. Nani explained that he does not choose scripts with the sole intention of making big mass action movies. He pointed out that after doing the film 'Dasara', he chose to do a simple movie like 'Hi Nanna'. Actors who chase the mass hero label always pick heavy commercial projects, which brings a lot of pressure. He added that he feels pity for those who carry that heavy burden because they have to worry about audience expectations and other calculations without having the freedom to do a movie that simply pleases their heart. At the same time, Nani mentioned that he is always ready to do action movies that are even bigger than 'The Paradise' in the future. He stated that he feels happy and satisfied with his career right now and does not have any desire to become a bigger star than he already is. He also noted that the success of a movie cannot be judged merely by box office collections or by labels like mass and class.

Context

Actors in the Indian film industry often face intense pressure from fans and box office expectations regarding their on-screen image. Choosing between commercial mass blockbusters and softer, content-driven family dramas is a common balancing act that many leading stars navigate throughout their careers.
