Bajaj is updating its fully faired Pulsar RS200 motorcycle with a new front suspension setup and modern technology features. Spy shots of a test bike show it keeps the familiar body style while adding several equipment upgrades.

Hardware Updates

The biggest mechanical change is the addition of upside-down front forks, replacing the conventional telescopic setup found on the current model. The rear keeps its monoshock layout, along with alloy wheels, disc brakes at both ends, and a compact right-side exhaust. The test bike also features adjustable clutch and brake levers that let riders change the lever reach.

Tech Features

Inside the cockpit, a rectangular TFT instrument console displays a speed readout, a gear-position indicator, and a bar-style tachometer. The left-hand switchgear includes a directional control pad, while the right side has a hazard-light switch. A covered port next to the display suggests a USB charging point may be included. Connected functions, ride modes, and traction control are also possibilities based on recent updates to other Pulsar models.

Design And Launch

The test motorcycle keeps the recognisable full fairing, twin-projector front lighting, raised windscreen, fairing-mounted mirrors, and angular side panels, finished in black with red graphics. Side views show Pulsar branding on the fuel tank and Race Sport lettering on the fairing, alongside split seats, separate pillion grab rails, and a rear tyre hugger. The bike is expected to keep its 200cc liquid-cooled engine, which produces 24.5 PS at 9,750 rpm with a six-speed gearbox. The current model starts at Rs 1,80,528 ex-showroom in three colours, and this updated version is likely to launch soon.

Context

Bike makers regularly update their popular motorcycle lineups with modern features like digital displays and better suspension parts to stay competitive. Bajaj has been rolling out these upgrades across several models in its Pulsar family over recent months. Testing new parts on public roads is a standard final step before a manufacturer officially releases a refreshed vehicle to the market.
