Hospitalization And Family

Roopi Soren married former Chief Minister late Shibu Soren on January 1, 1962. She entered Hill View Hospital and Research Centre on September 18, 2026, due to breathing trouble and was placed on a ventilator on October 7. The couple had three sons and a daughter. Their eldest son Durga Soren, who was a JMM leader and an MLA from Jama, passed away in 2009. Hemant Soren is their second son, while their youngest son Basant Soren is an MLA from the Dumka assembly seat. Their daughter Anjani Soren is also linked with the JMM.

Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi expressed deep sadness over the death.
