Reliance Jio offers budget data packs including a 49-rupee plan with 25GB high-speed data for one day, along with a newly introduced 15-rupee add-on pack. According to India TV Hindi, the country's largest telecom company launched the 15-rupee plan on November 5 to coincide with Diwali as an emergency data pack. The 49-rupee pack provides total high-speed internet for a single day without any voice calling or SMS benefits, making it purely a data option for heavy usage like HD movie streaming or online gaming. Meanwhile, the 15-rupee add-on works alongside regular active plans to provide 1GB of data over 24 hours, supporting tasks like 4K video streaming, file downloads, and mobile hotspot sharing. Eligible users on 5G smartphones can also access unlimited 5G data with the 15-rupee plan, which includes an extra 200MB of free 4G data. Jio also offers four other low-cost plans priced at 147 rupees, 177 rupees, 196 rupees, and 197 rupees based on TRAI recommendations. These alternative plans provide validity periods ranging from 22 days to a full calendar month along with unlimited voice calling and 300 free SMS benefits, though they do not include standard data allowances.

Context

Telecom companies frequently introduce low-cost data add-ons and short-term packs to help active subscribers manage sudden internet shortages without buying full monthly plans. These emergency data options let users handle heavy downloads or streaming tasks when their primary daily limits run out.
