Carlos Alcaraz fought off two match points in the Paris Masters quarter-finals to defeat Taylor Fritz, sealing qualification for fellow Spaniard Rafael Jodar.

Quarter-Final Drama

Alcaraz overcame Fritz with a hard-fought three-set scoreline, ending the American player's dreams of qualifying for the season-ending tournament in Turin. Fritz took the opening set after a tense tie-break before grabbing a break in the second. However, Alcaraz dug deep to stave off two match points and level the contest.

Semi-Final Lineup

The 23-year-old Spaniard carried his momentum into the final set, grabbing a 3-1 lead before sealing victory with a strong forehand. Alcaraz moves on to face either Casper Ruud or Nuno Borges in the next round in Paris.

ATP Finals Field

Alcaraz's win ensured twenty-year-old Jodar took the eighth and final spot for the year-end event. Earlier in the day, Ben Shelton defeated fellow American Tommy Paul, a result which booked Frances Tiafoe's place at the tournament. The confirmed singles lineup features Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, Flavio Cobolli, Arthur Fils, Alcaraz, Shelton, Tiafoe, and Jodar.
