Telangana court rejects plea to lift licence ban on Pulla Reddy Sweets Sanathnagar outlet
Reported by Ananya Das (Senior Writer) · The Hindu - National ·
Justice N.V. Shravan Kumar of the Telangana High Court on Friday refused to overturn the state’s order suspending the food licence of the Pulla Reddy Sweets outlet in Sanathnagar. The shop’s authorized representative, Raghava Reddy, had approached the court with a writ petition contesting the suspension imposed by the Food Safety Designated Officer of the Khairatabad zone, alleging inspection‑related shortcomings. The court directed a fresh inspection of the premises. After the re‑inspection, officials told the bench that some of the earlier deficiencies remained while others had been corrected. Relying on this mixed report, the judge upheld the suspension and set the next hearing for 18 November.## Context The FSSAI licence permits food businesses to operate only if they meet safety standards. Courts often intervene when operators challenge suspension orders, but they usually rely on inspection reports to decide whether the licence can be restored.
