Market Expert Sumeet Bagadia Shares Stock Picks Ahead of Muhurat Trading 2026
Reported by Pooja Nair (Section Editor) · Livemint - Markets ·
Indian stock market indices recorded a sharp recovery last week as the Nifty 50 index gained 8.6 percent to close at 25,030.35 and the Bank Nifty advanced to 59,086.
Market Shifts
The rally was driven by global risk sentiment following hopes of a negotiated geopolitical settlement after the US midterm elections, which caused crude oil prices to drop and brought foreign capital back into Indian equities. Foreign institutional investors purchased a net 45,960 crore rupees during the week, while domestic institutional investors sold 24,197 crore rupees.
Muhurat Trading Outlook
Stock investors are preparing for the special Muhurat Trading session on Sunday, 8 November 2026, which marks the start of Samvat 2083 and will run from 2:20 PM to 3:30 PM. Sumeet Bagadia, Executive Director at Choice Broking, notes that the Nifty 50 index closing above 25,000 points shows a strong improvement in the short-term trend. The relative strength index jumped to 78.55, showing strong bullish momentum alongside an overbought market condition. Bagadia states that the index has immediate support between 24,800 and 24,850, with resistance expected around 25,130 and 25,200.
Stock Recommendations
For the Muhurat trading session, Sumeet Bagadia recommends three stock picks for Samvat 2083: Adani Ports, Sun Pharma, and Kotak Mahindra Bank. Adani Ports closed at 1,936.60 rupees after reaching a lifetime high of 1,948.90 rupees, backed by a technical breakout from a multi-month symmetrical triangle pattern. Sun Pharma shares closed at 1,860.00 rupees after rebounding from its primary ascending trendline support and the 50-week moving average zone. Kotak Mahindra Bank reached a fresh lifetime high of 480 rupees after breaking through its multi-month consolidation barrier.
