Everton overturned a 1-0 deficit to win 3-1 against Coventry at the Hill Dickinson, thanks to a double from teenage striker Thierno Barry. Coventry opened the scoring but Barry equalised before adding a second goal that proved the match-winner. Former Everton boss Frank Lampard argued that two penalty decisions and one disallowed Everton goal swung the result against his side. He pointed to James Tarkowski’s alleged hair‑pull on Coventry forward Caleb Yirenkyi, a tackle by Vitalii Mkykolenko on Taiwo Awoniyi that VAR deemed just outside the box, and a handball check on Barry’s second goal that was let stand. Lampard said none of these calls favored Coventry and that even one or two could have changed the outcome. Everton manager David Moyes praised Barry, calling his performance “fabulous” and suggesting even Erling Haaland might be watching. The win moved Everton to fifth place in the Premier League, level on goal difference with Liverpool but ahead on points.## Context
