Reported by Harshdeep Singh (Fact-Checker) Β· Livemint - Markets Β·
The Indian stock market is hosting its special ceremonial Muhurat Trading session on Sunday, November 8, 2026. The 70-minute trading window runs from 2:20 PM to 3:30 PM. Over the past decade, key indices Sensex and Nifty 50 have ended higher for eight successive sessions, closing in the red only in 2016 and 2017.
Market Outlook
Data from HDFC Sky shows that between 2006 and 2025, the Nifty 50 closed lower on just five occasions in 2007, 2009, 2012, 2016, and 2017. The Sensex finished lower only four times during the same span, in 2007, 2012, 2016, and 2017. Sumeet Bagadia, Executive Director at Choice Broking, expects both indices to close higher today due to positive global and domestic sentiments pointing to a gap-up opening. For Samvat 2083, Bagadia notes that Nifty 50 has immediate support between 24,800 and 24,850, with resistance pegged at 25,130 to 25,200.
Stock Picks
Bagadia has recommended three stocks under 100 rupees for the Samvat 2083 session. First is Suzlon Energy, with a recommended buy price of 38.80 rupees, a target of 43 rupees, and a stop loss of 36.50 rupees. Second is NHPC, with a buy price of 82.08 rupees, a target of 90 rupees, and a stop loss of 77.50 rupees.
