More than 5,000 candidates secured jobs at a state-level job fair held in Raipur, according to officials. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai handed over job offer letters to about 1,100 of the selected youths during the closing ceremony of the two-day event at Sardar Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium. The gathering drew more than 13,000 young participants from districts across the state, including remote and tribal areas, who attended interviews with over 95 registered employers and other companies.

Government Plans

Addressing the crowd, Sai stated that giving quality education, skill training, and jobs based on youth qualifications is a main goal for his administration. He noted that the state has arranged 925 job fairs over the past two-and-a-half years, which have placed over 25,845 people in jobs. To build on this, the state plans to turn the e-Rojgar portal into a 'Skill Market', which is a digital platform meant to match job seekers with industry needs.

Context

Large state-backed job fairs are a common way for local governments in India to connect regional job seekers with private employers. These initiatives aim to reduce migration from remote regions by creating employment pathways closer to home.
