Police arrested six people within three hours of a daylight robbery where a group posing as Income Tax officials stole gold and silver jewellery worth about three crore rupees from a businessman's house in Rajasthan's Ajmer district. Around nine to ten people arrived at Anil Maheshwari's house in Mahesh Vihar Colony near the Dilwara bypass at roughly 11.30 am, showed fake identity cards, and said they were doing an official search. The group searched the house, took jewellery from a cupboard, and threatened the family before escaping with the valuables. A case was filed at the Nasirabad Sadar police station. Ajmer superintendent of police Harshvardhan Agrawala stated that multiple teams checked CCTV footage, studied technical evidence, and tracked the suspects to make the quick arrests. The six arrested individuals are Devendra, Sanjay Rawat, Ravikant alias Ravi, Amit, Tara, and Deva alias Devendra Singh Rawat. Early checks show the crime was planned for over a month. One suspect, Devendra, worked at the house from 2016 to 2021, and Sanjay Rawat knew the businessman professionally. Police believe their familiarity helped them plan the robbery and arrange fake identity cards to enter without suspicion. Officers are still working to recover the stolen items, check the roles of other suspects, and see if the group committed similar crimes before.

Context
