Punk Band Soul Glo Prepares New Album After Acclaimed Diaspora Problems

Punk band Soul Glo is set to release a new record titled NA I'M GON GRAB ALLAT in January. Ahead of the full release, the band has already dropped two singles, along with earlier works like Songs to Yeet at the Sun and their 2022 album Diaspora Problems.

Album Highlights

Diaspora Problems opens with the track "Gold Chain Punk (whogonbeatmyass?)", featuring frontman Pierce Jordan delivering intense vocals over a hardcore riff. Another track, "Coming Correct", opens with an 808 beat before Jordan launches into rapid-fire lyrics. The album blends leftist rhetoric, humor, and personal struggles with depression, drawing stylistic comparisons to modern rap as well as classic hardcore acts like Minor Threat and Bad Brains.

Collaborations and Genre Mix

Track six, titled "Driponomics", features trap snares, 808 kicks, and a guest verse from Mother Maryrose. The album closes with "Spiritual Level Of Gang Shit", which includes guest verses from McKinley Dixon and Lojii, gently echoed guitar melodies, a standard hardcore beat shift, and a horn section.

Context

Soul Glo is available for listeners on Bandcamp and major streaming services including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Deezer, and Qobuz. The band is also known for their energetic live performances and a notable Tiny Desk Concert appearance.
