UPDATE - follow-up to Crime News: An industrial oxygen cylinder exploded in Okhla Phase-I, killing one worker and injuring four others. The cylinder fell onto the road while being unloaded from a truck during routine operations. The blast was powerful enough to shatter nearby building windows, leaving nearby residents shaken. Police detained the godown owner and registered a case of causing death by negligence. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has requested documents from the Malwani police following a Bombay High Court order directing an FIR registration. The CBI has been tasked with conducting the investigation, which was previously handled by the Mumbai Police. The Mumbai Police had concluded that Disha Salian's death was a suicide, but her father has petitioned the court seeking a murder investigation into suspicious circumstances. Technical and forensic agencies will examine the scene to determine the explosion's precise cause. The explosion has raised concerns about workplace safety in the industrial sector, with experts warning of the dangers of unsecured oxygen cylinders. The godown owner has been taken into custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
