Google plans to launch the new Fitbit Edge tracker on October 12, according to a recent social media post by the company. The tech giant shared a teaser on the platform X with the text that points to the upcoming October date.

Design and Features

The teaser image shows that the device will feature a metal body and the canyon color scheme first seen on the Pixel Watch 5. Reports indicate that the tracker will offer a seven-day battery life, support for iPhones, and built-in Gemini integration. The device is expected to cost around $180, which is much lower than the $400 starting price of the Pixel Watch 5.

Availability and App Updates

Google has confirmed that the tracker will not launch in India, Japan, or Turkey on October 12, stating that official release dates for these regions are not yet fixed. Meanwhile, the Google Health 5.10 app update is rolling out with three new features. These include Irregular Rhythm Notifications for Pixel Watch and Fitbit devices in Japan, updates to the Readiness Score for a more personal experience, and the ability to delete accidental Google Health Coach logs using voice chat.

Context

Fitness trackers like the upcoming Fitbit Edge are designed to help users monitor their daily health metrics, sleep patterns, and physical activity levels. Companies often stagger device releases across different global markets due to local regulatory approvals and regional supply chain plans.
