Alexander Zverev has reached his second US Open final, beating Karen Khachanov 6-3 7-6 (9-7) 7-6 (8-6) to secure a third consecutive Grand Slam final appearance. The 29-year-old German is now poised to face either Ben Shelton or Frances Tiafoe in the championship match on Sunday, with the two Americans set to meet in Friday's night session. Zverev's victory marked his first Grand Slam title in over a year, following his French Open triumph in June. He has been in dominant form, dropping only one set throughout the tournament and having saved two set points in the third set against Khachanov. The top seed's performance was marked by a strong serve, with him winning 13 of 15 points behind his first serve and all nine points at the net in the first set. Zverev's journey to the final has been aided by the injury withdrawals of world number one Jannik Sinner and defending US Open champion Carlos Alcaraz. The German expressed his excitement for the upcoming match, saying that he hopes to make his opponents' 'American dream come true'. With his consistency and improved form, Zverev is now in a strong position to win his second major of the year.
