Sean Combs suffered a head injury that required his temporary transport out of FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey. According to TMZ, an ambulance pulled out of the prison grounds around 1 AM on Saturday, October 10, to take the 56-year-old rapper for medical treatment. Prison sources told TMZ that the injury was not life-threatening, as he was conscious and speaking when he returned to the facility before sunrise later that day. It remains unclear how he sustained the injury.
Legal Status And Prison Life
Combs is currently serving a four-year sentence after being convicted on two counts of transportation for prostitution in July 2025. He maintains his innocence and has pleaded not guilty, while his legal team awaits a judge's decision on an appeal. His lawyer Juda Engelmayer told Us Magazine that Combs is deeply focused on the case and has practically become a paralegal. Meanwhile, Bureau of Prisons records show his projected release date has shifted from January 21, 2028, to March 2, 2028, though representatives stated they receive no explanation for such date adjustments.
Special Treatment Claims
Earlier this month, NBC News reported that Combs was placed in the Special Housing Unit, or solitary confinement, following allegations that he received special treatment in prison. Four unnamed men from the unit told NBC News that Combs had access to contraband items including drugs, alcohol, and cell phones, and paid other inmates thousands of dollars each month to do his chores, cook special meals, and give him Chinese-style massages. A spokesperson for Combs dismissed the claims, stating that the media is portraying ordinary prison life as news while he serves his time and awaits his appeal.
Context
Federal correctional institutions maintain strict rules regarding inmate movement, security, and prohibited items like phones and alcohol. When high-profile inmates experience sudden medical issues or face disciplinary scrutiny, it frequently draws intense public and media attention regarding the conditions of their confinement.
